Who are we?
JETS is short for Junior Engineering Technical Society, a national organization that targets students interested in science, math, and engineering. In 2011, The JETS organization was acquired by the TSA (Technology Student Association).
Currently, our club is a registered chapter of TSA. Lynbrook JETS hosts weekly engineering-related activities to help foster interest in engineering and technology. We strive to accomplish the following goals in our meetings: present engineering concepts and their practical uses and promote a healthy environment conducive to inquiry. We also encourage students to participate in events and competitions, some of which include the TEAMS competition, Tech Challenge, and West Point Bridge Design Challenge. Additionally, we participate in a number of TSA competitions, which are described below.
To enrich our club experience, we may have a few field trips every year to engineering and software companies, well-known labs, and other exciting places. Additionally, we often invite guest speakers, who are established in the engineering field, to talk to our members about their work.
